Formula mexicana, is a company that operates in the Valley of Mexico. It was born thanks to a great visionary man, Rogerio Azcárraga Vidaurreta, father of the current president, Rogerio Azcárraga Madero.

The history of this station goes back to the year 1968, with the name of Radio Distrito Federal, which changed later. His frequencies had a musical cut programming, with the aim of introducing Rock’n Roll in Mexico (an example of this is the program “Vibraciones del Rock” that was born in 1985 with Humberto Cantú), an objective that he achieved with the support of his company Discos Orfeón founded in 1958.

This company began with the recording of the great artists of Mexican cinema and the golden age of music. Currently, it has diversified by buying catalogs from Spain and Argentina, counting to date with more than 80 thousand recordings in digital stereo.

Its logo, which remains in force to date, was designed in Japan especially for the organization by Takiro Mizuyama. The image is a lotus flower that symbolizes the expansion of hertzian waves and this design has been the distinctive emblem of the organization.

The frequencies that were originally part of this company were: XERFR-AM 970, XEAI-AM 1470 and XEDF-AM 1500; period in which the night programming had a great success, as was the program of Encarnita Sánchez, an unrivaled communicator, who had caused a great sensation in Spain, and in Mexico came to turn the night Radio into a factor of social assistance and humanitarian. Subsequently, the frequencies were annexed: XERFR-FM 103.3 and XEDF-FM 104.1.

However, it was not until 1987 when the history of Radio Distrito Federal changed radically, due to the fact that the format was modified from musical to spoken in the AM (Amplitude Modulated) stations, and they began to broadcast newscasts hosted by various personalities, such as: León Michel, Don Pedro Ferríz Santacruz, Don Fernando Marcos, Luis Ignacio Santibáñez, Luis Cáceres, Jorge Zúñiga, Eduardo Charpenel and several more, who managed to place themselves in those times in the preference of the audience with their newscasts. Subsequently, this preference continued: Mr. Joaquín López-Dóriga, Eduardo Ruiz Healy, the “Financial Formula” team, and several others.

Seeing the great success obtained, the women’s bar was formed, headed by Maxine Woodside with her program “Todo para la mujer” which started in October 1989 and a year later she started “Salud y Belleza” with Alfredo Palacios. The success of the programs of these two great communicators was immediate and marked a new direction in women’s radio programming and in show journalism. However, another program that has a long history within the station and was born in the same period is Bionatura, hosted by Dr. Abel Cruz, who focuses on naturopathic medicine.

The acceptance of radio listeners to the programming of Radio Distrito Federal was so great that it gave rise to the realization of a special project: the creation of an organization that would be in charge of broadcasting at the national level, thus giving rise to RAMSA (Radio América de México). SA de CV) in 1994, (currently it has 35 own stations and approximately 48 affiliates, distributed throughout the Mexican Republic).
